Schedule and Other Important Information

The course fee for Part D includes the opportunity to challenge the McKenzie Institute Credentialling Exam one time without charge, within 24 months of the Part D course. The online exam can be taken up to 24 months from the completion of the Part D. The next exam is scheduled to take place on February 6-7, 2026. A refund or credit will not be provided to anyone that chooses not to take the online exam within 24 months of the Part D course and the offer to take the exam without charge will not be extended beyond 24 months.

This course consists of 4 sessions. Please see the schedule below. The course times noted are in EASTERN TIME. Please adjust for your local time zone. A digital/fillable pdf version of the Part D manual will be provided for this course. Course sessions are not recorded.

ONLINE Session 1: Complete on your own, must be completed 2 days before Session 2. Approximately 7 hours to complete.
ONLINE Session 2: 13APR (MON) 3:00pm–8.30pm ET, live instruction with the instructor. This session is not recorded.
ONLINE Session 3: 18APR (SAT) 9:00am-5:15pm ET
ONLINE Session 4: 19APR (SUN) 9:00am-5.15pm ET

Registrants will require an adult asymptomatic practice (patient) model for 2 hours during Session 3. The tentative time for the practice model will be from 1.30pm - 3.30pm Eastern Time. Please adjust accordingly for your local time zone. The practice patient model can be a friend, a family member or a work colleague.

This course may include 1-2 hours of homework between Sessions 2 and 3.

Course Goals:

Cervical and Thoracic Spine
This course will help participants develop more advanced knowledge and skills to:
1. Identify and discuss common problems encountered in the application of MDT for patients with cervical and thoracic spine problems.
2. Analyse and discuss the MDT assessment and how it assists with patient classification.
3. Consider the application of clinician forces, and how they fit with MDT’s ‘Progression of Forces’ concept.
4. Perform clinician techniques for the cervical and thoracic spine at an advanced level and to identify difficulties with, or variations of, their application.
5. Analyse case studies of patients presenting with cervical/thoracic symptoms and determine the appropriate classification.

Upper Limb
Participants will be provided with the introductory knowledge and basic skills to begin to:
1. Describe and discuss the current evidence base for the use of MDT for upper limb musculoskeletal disorders.
2. Describe the characteristics of Derangement, Dysfunction and Postural syndromes as they present in upper limb musculoskeletal disorders.
3. Perform MDT assessments for upper limb musculoskeletal disorders and determine the presence of MDT syndromes.
4. Design appropriate management programs for patients who present with Derangement, Dysfunction and Postural syndromes in the upper limb.
5. Analyse case studies and/or role plays of patients presenting with upper limb symptoms and determine the appropriate classification.
